Privacy

PURRINDEX is a static reference site. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is nothing to collect.

• No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel. One cookieless analytics script runs, and it is named below rather than counted as an absence.
• No cookies are set by this site.

• Nothing you do here reaches a PURRINDEX server. The site is static files; there is no application server to receive anything. The counting described below is done by Umami, and what it counts is named there rather than left implied.

Analytics

Every page loads Umami (cloud.umami.is), which counts visits. It records the page you asked for, the referring page, and your browser, operating system, screen size and country. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. To tell a repeat visit apart within a single day it derives a hash from your IP address and browser details; Umami states that it does not store the address itself, and the hash does not persist beyond the day or follow you to any other site. PURRINDEX sees counts and pages, never individuals, and cannot recognise you on a return visit. Because nothing is stored on your device and no identifier crosses sites, no consent banner accompanies it.

It also counts a short list of clicks, so this site can tell whether its pages are used rather than merely loaded: opening a product's buying options, following a retailer link, opening a manufacturer document cited as evidence, and using the database's filters or search. Each of those records the product or the kind of document involved and nothing else. A search sends how many characters the term had and how many products matched it — never the words you typed. These counts travel in the same stream as the pageviews above and are grouped by nothing beyond the same within-the-day visit hash already described. No link address, tracking identifier or retailer product code is sent with them.

Web fonts

Pages request their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Making that request necessarily discloses your IP address and browser user-agent to Google, who state their own terms for it. PURRINDEX receives nothing from it and cannot see it.

One key in your browser

If you add products to the comparison tray, the list of product identifiers is stored under purrindex.compare in your browser's local storage so the selection survives navigation. It stays on your device, it is never transmitted, and clearing your browser data removes it. Nothing else is stored.

Server logs

These pages are served by Cloudflare Pages, which, like any web server, records ordinary request logs. That processing is Cloudflare's and is governed by its own terms and its own retention period: PURRINDEX does not set that period, has no access to those logs, and does not restate here a period it has not verified.

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. Following one takes you to the retailer, who may then set their own cookies and apply their own privacy policy — PURRINDEX has no access to that and receives no personal data from it. PURRINDEX itself still sets no cookies. The analytics named above do count that a retailer link for a given product was followed — that is how this site learns whether it is useful — but they stay cookieless, record nothing about who followed it, and are not sent the link address or the tracking identifier.

This policy describes the site as built. It is not a placeholder for practices that do not exist yet. The analytics section above was added in the same release that enabled it. If a contact form, a second analytics tool, or Amazon's own tracking technologies are ever enabled, this page will be updated in the same release that enables them, naming: what is collected, who processes it, the legal basis and retention, and how to opt out where that applies. Until such a section appears here, it is because the thing it would describe does not exist.
